Individual counseling is a collaborative effort between a client and counselor created to foster positive growth and change within a safe, therapeutic environment. The counseling experience is different for each person but generally includes a combination of discussions and experiential learning, as well as homework between counseling sessions.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, (EMDR), integrates elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies. EMDR is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach.

I have worked with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families for the past fourteen years. Rather than looking at what’s wrong in a person’s life, I help people look at areas they desire to shift and tap into their internal resources in order to help these shifts occur. I work with clients to shift underlying patterns on a mind, body and spirit/energy level.

I specialize in the areas of trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, women’s issues, self esteem struggles, relationship struggles, adolescent and children’s issues, and family issues. I have extensive training and experience with other specialized services, including EMDR, Yoga Instruction, Mind Energy Body Work, and Meditation Instruction.

I work from a collaborative, whole-person, holistic, mind-body-energy approach to wellness by joining with clients and looking at all of the components necessary for optimal health. I utilize the therapeutic relationship to help foster client growth, while employing Congnitive-behavioral/Solution-focused Strategies, Psychodynamic theory, Systems theory, Psycho-education, and Transpersonal/spirituality based interventions. I integrate yoga, meditation and energy work into each session.
